These gifs and video loops above are part of a larger project of short anime clips, predominantly retro, that are intended to loop and provide aesthetic visuals for artists mixing their music on video platforms.
I wanted to contribute to the pool of short, looping retro anime clips that are used in these mixes.
Some of my favorite emerging genre’s are chillwave, synthwave, city pop, future funk, chillhop, retrowave, jazz hop – the list can go on forever.
I found myself connecting to the visuals, since they usually touched on anime’s I enjoy watching like magical girl slice-of-life animes (Urusei Yatsura or Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel.) I also enjoy the sci-fi staples like Neon Genesis Evangelion, Cowoby Bepop, Akira, Ghost in Shell. I enjoy the fantasy of Hayao Miyazaki and the psychological sometimes sci-fi thrillers from Satoshi Kon. I’ll always accept recommendations.
Whenever possible I try to edit and arrange the frames to loop seamlessly.
